FAQ
What can I expect from acupuncture treatments?
Acupuncture is a time-honored, effective procedure to activate or moderate the body’s natural healing mechanisms. Single or multiple thin, sterile acupuncture needles are inserted into carefully chosen locations (“points”) along channels or meridians of the body. The insertion of singular or multiple needles generates specific instructions to physiological processes of the body in much the same way a conductor directs the tempo, timing and harmony of various voices of a choir. The goal of the acupuncture physician is to moderate multiple organs and systems to achieve and sustain harmony within the human being and the body they occupy.
Each InHome acupuncture treatment is designed to provide the same professional, comprehensive care offered in-clinic, while allowing you to fully relax in the privacy and comfort of home. Your initial appointment typically lasts two to three hours as best serves your individual needs. This extended time allows for a full review of your health history, intake and assessment of your concerns, vitals, review of prescription medications, diet and dietary supplements, as well as any labs or imaging that require review. Following this, you will receive your first treatment protocol. This may consist of acupuncture alone, or may include multiple therapies such as electroacupuncture, cupping, Gua Sha, therapeutic ultrasound, micro current, or massage. Subsequent treatments are typically 60-120 minutes.
Acupuncture is a peaceful, restorative, and deeply relaxing mode of medicine. Your treatment plan will be created and modified based on your diagnosis, presentation, and progress. Your response to treatment, as with any medical intervention, depends upon your unique physiological resources.

What can I expect from clinical hypnotherapy treatments?
Clinical hypnotherapy is a focussed, evidence based therapy to help patients take agency over thoughts, behavior and emotional responses. Administered as a singular treatment, or applied in conjunction with acupuncture, clinical hypnosis can shift perspective, clarify cognition, and realign associations. Like Acupuncture, clinical hypnosis is a restorative and deeply relaxing medical mode of self-regulation.
If clinical hypnotherapy is indicated for you, an interview will be scheduled at least 72 hours prior to your appointment time. This is an essential step in constructing treatment framework and therapeutic protocol. Speak with Dr. Lubas during your consultation if you would like more information.

What are botanical decoctions and what can I expect from treatments?
Botanical decoctions are raw medicinal herbs prepared and simmered in a water base to extract their therapeutic constituents. The result is a pharmacologically active liquid medicine that targets your primary concern and fortifies your body’s natural resources. Like all prescriptions, specific instructions are provided as to how much to take and how often, and whether or not to take it with food. Dietary guidelines are also provided to fully inform you which foods, or food elements, to increase, decrease, or eliminate during your course of treatment. These guidelines can be found in the “Caution & Contraindications” section to ensure your prescription functions at peak safety and effectiveness.
Your prescription information will be provided for you in a clear, easy to read table, including an “Actions & Indications” section that documents the clinical relevance of each herb in your prescription as it relates to your condition.
